Still We Trust

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;” — Proverbs 3:5

Do we truly trust in God? When the world is bleak and terrible around us, when we feel like all hope is lost and our prayers go unanswered, what is our demeanor? Our response? Do we still trust God?

There is a song composed from the writings of some of those imprisoned during the Holocaust, when people were slaughtered with impunity, and evil and anguish had spread all over Europe.

I believe in the sun
Even when it is not shining
And I believe in love
Even when there’s no one there
And I believe in God
Even when He is silent
I believe through any trial
There is always a way

Why so downcast, O my soul? Put your hope in God! [Ps. 42:11 pp.]
