Time seems to fly so quickly. I think of the words of Scripture:
“To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:” — Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV
It feels sometimes like time is passing by and the days are full of wasted moments just surviving, keeping the roof over the head and the food on the table, without any further action or thought toward advancing the kingdom of heaven. It can be easy to feel this way during fallow times, when we are less than productive, but rather quietly living out our faith.
These are the times, however, that build our strength and character. It is in the small moments and the tiny decisions that we develop our habits of turning to God in trust and living in integrity and unconditional love—or not.
“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” — Colossians 3:17
“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'” — Matthew 25:21 NKJV
Today, let’s choose to focus on being faithful in the little things, the mundane moments, and the small trials of our lives. When we are faithful even in the times when ordinary life seems to be all we accomplish, then we are prepared for when God gives us greater tasks and bolder opportunities.
0” But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” — James 1:4 KJV
